One analysis you might not have seen is Ryan Lizza’s The New Yorker post, which explains, in more detail than I’ve seen anywhere, the reasons behind the strength/power of those who are pushing Speaker of the House John Boehner:

I am pissed because after giving them what they wanted, The Heritage Foundation’s Romney Care instead of what I wanted, single-payer, those Republican jerks have made what could have been, finally successful–healthcare for almost all–something awful. It’s infuriating to hear Republicans complain that Obama wouldn’t even negotiate with them over health care. he didn’t need to; he gave them what they wanted. He had to convince his base, ticked off people like me, to accept less than single-payer. Quite frankly, I don’t want insurance. I want to walk into a doctor’s office and get the services I need and have them send the bill to Uncle Sam because I paid for it all with my taxes. I definitely feel like ventilating.
