THE OUTER LOOP
THE OUTER LOOP
“NY Times, Dec. 19--President-elect Barack Obama says that he wants to make his administration more responsive to the American people. To that end, his aides are introducing a host of YouTube and other efforts aimed at bypassing the media and communicating directly with the voters.”
I guess folks interpret actions and decisions through their own prisms, their own particular lenses. I think this direction of Obama’s is less about ‘bypassing the media’ than his use of alternative media outlets to reach those who do not use newspapers or generally watch TV. The Times and other traditional media still don’t seem to get it: that there are new ways folks get their news now. Obama understands that the print press and TV no longer monopolize how people get their news.
